The Origins of Taoists
Taoism is associated with Tao Te Ching, a philosophical and political text written by Lao Tzu around 3rd or 4th centuries B.C.E. Tao means "the way" so Taoism focuses on "way" or "path" that is a way to behave or lead others.
TAOISTS
Only two sects of Taoism are recognized Quanzhen Dao (practiced in northern china) and Tian Shi Dao (practiced southern china). Modern Taoism still does offerings, sacrifices, thanksgiving, requiems, excorcisms, prayers for rain, meditating and healing came from the Tian Shi Taoists.
YING YANG SYMBOL MEANING
This is called the Ying and Yang symbol which represents good and evil. Ying is the feminine energy, concepts associated with this energy include darkness, passivity, emotion, wetness, and cold. Yang is the masculine energy and represent the opposite of the feminine concepts such as light, action, logic, dryness, and warmth.
